In news straight form the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, it seems that Apple is on the right track to bringing yet another new feature to all of their devices, the iTrack!

Recently, the technology giant was granted a patent for “sharing location information among devices.”

According to a recent CNET article, the patent “describes a process that would let you view a visual representation of the path taken by another person using a mobile device as a way of following that person’s entire journey.”

Apple’s new patent for the iTrack would allow a person to share his or her whereabouts with a friend or family member whenever they go on a trip, a hike or simply to do any day-to-day activities.

And, what about Fido? Apple’s new patented technology could help ensure that our precious pets would never be lost again!

As an additional feature of iTrack, the patent describes a “mirroring mode.” In this mode, two users could share the views on their devices with each other.

If your privacy-invasion radar is skyrocketing, you can relax just a bit. Apple’s tracking patent would not automatically track every device out there. Users would need to give permission for their family members or friends to track their locations.

Further, CNET reports that this newly-patented invention may never even see the light of the latest iDevice. Nevertheless, we must admit that this newly patented concept by Apple is certainly on track to have people talking!
