This week on Univision network, the #1 Spanish language network in the United States, morning show Despierta America gave viewers an inside look at some of the coolest office spaces in the world! At Inventionland, we were excited to welcome reporter Luis Sandoval as he made the journey to visit us at Inventionland in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, following visits to Google and Facebook headquarters in Mountain View, California!

The morning show, some might say comparable to The Today Show or Good Morning America that many of us are familiar with, airs from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. EST Monday through Friday, featuring news and entertainment stories.

On Wednesday, Luis ventured to Google headquarters where fun facilities are aimed at “creating a creative and collaborative environment in which fresh ideas can be born,” according to the report.

On Thursday, Luis gave audiences an inside look at Facebook headquarters, where “state-of-the-art facilities include an exercise park, business premises, souvenir shops and free restaurants for employees,” per the report.

We loved getting a glimpse of both the Google and Facebook headquarters as it’s always great to see and relate to other innovative companies who also appreciate the value in fostering a creative work environment.

We may be biased in this opinion, but we’d like to believe reporter Luis Sandoval saved the best for last as his adventure to some of the coolest offices in the world landed him at Inventionland on today’s Friday airing, in which audiences got to know the facilities of Inventionland, “the most creative factory in the world,” as the report said.

Los Angeles, Stockholm, Madrid… Pittsburgh?

It may not seem that all of those cities have much in common, but there is one creative tie that binds them all together.

Around the world, those cities, along with Billund, Denmark, have been recognized by The Plaid Zebra for housing five offices that would actually make someone want to go to work.

Can you take a wild guess as to which Pittsburgh office cemented the Steel City on that worldwide list?

Of course! It’s Inventionland!

The “Unconventional Lifestyle Magazine” recently tweeted their article to their 1,000+ followers in line with their mission to “broaden the horizons of potential lifestyle choices by uplifting the autonomous with inspiration and example.” According to them, Inventionland’s got all the uplifting inspiration needed to complete the creative inventing process.

“Offices inside racetracks, [desks] aboard pirate ships, meeting rooms inside castles—just the kind of thing needed to inspire creative inventions (including, yes, toys),” said the recent “These Five Offices Actually Make You Want To Go To Work” article.

But, don’t think that all of the creative office spaces recognized across the world were our competition! In fact, the other offices noted in The Plaid Zebra article included a fundraising company, an internet service provider, an architecture firm and toy-builder extraordinaire… Lego!

Inventionland made the nominee list in both the Overall Excellence and Sustainability categories!

All nominees were honored at the 11th annual Manufacturer of the Year Awards program, which was held December 4, 2014 at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh.

The program, and a supplement to the Pittsburgh Business Times newspaper, recognized Inventionland as “a factory where corporations, retailers and inventors come for help in designing new products,” noting the popular Middle Eastern TV show “Khawatir,” which featured Inventionland on an episode that now has garnered over 1.5 million YouTube views since first airing last July.

With all other finalists, Inventionland was deemed one of the “region’s best manufacturing firms.”

Congratulations to our creative design facility on this very worthy recognition!

Companies like Google and Hootsuite made the list, but according to Bazis, they“saved the best for last” when they featured none other than our very own design facility, Inventionland!

With a vibrant photo of the Pirate Ship Discovery and a vivid description of the Nursery Nook, Bazis bloggers encourage readers to take their own virtual tour, because frankly “our descriptions don’t do it any justice!”
