The Solution

A husband and wife came to Davison having already received a design patent for their invention idea to solve this problem, but they needed help in professionally preparing and presenting it to a corporation for licensing. Davison then turned to Inventionland for the design work, where they applied their proven inventing method and created the Twister Bolts for the do-it-yourselfer or seasoned contractor in two sizes — 5/16″ and 1/4″. From there, Davison was able to license the product to an industry leader in plumbing, toilet and faucet repair/replacement products. Today this product is selling in home improvement and hardware stores nationwide.

Angelica was selected as the winner of the Steve Harvey Show’s “Pitch to Win” contest by our very own founder and CEO George Davison! The Solution

The Quick Cut is a convenient stick-on cutting tool that adheres to all flat surfaces and is ideal for cutting clothing tags, thread, ribbon, fishing line and more. Place the string over the tool and pull down to cut! The tool itself is devised of only four components including a main body that our Creationeers ultrasonically welded to the base, a scissor-cutter blade and a tape adhesive to allow it to stick to any flat surface for convenience and ease-of-use. The scissor-shaped design of the main body clearly communicates the purpose of the tool to the end user. The Quick Cut provides an easy solution to home-users everywhere, while crafted with only minimal tooling making it cost-effective.

With all of the practical features on a Swiss Army Knife, you would think that there would also be some kind of tool that could be used to alert others or draw attention to oneself in an emergency situation. Now there is.

The Solution

Davison developed the Swiss Army Whistle Knife to hold an extremely high-decibel whistle in one side of the knife housing without exposing any moving parts. If needed, a person can alert a bystander, their dog or authorities and even ward off a possible attacker by drawing attention to them. The Whistle Knife is also small enough that it can fit on a key ring and be taken anywhere.

The Swiss Army Whistle Knife includes all of the standard features of a Swiss Army knife, but it is also equipped with a high-decibel whistle that is perfect for alarming bystanders, pets or the authorities of any potential danger. Traditional automotive creepers have wheels that get stuck in floor cracks, shift wildly over bolts or other loose parts and frequently break, leaving a mechanic stuck. But how do you solve these problems and make the creeper, a mainstay of mechanics’ garages for more than a century, more innovative? Our task was to reinvent the product line for a leading manufacturer of creepers, who was faced with stiff competition from overseas.

The Solution

We eliminated the most expensive and breakage-prone parts, the wheels and casters, and replaced them with air by incorporating a compressed air bladder. Instead of trying to roll over an uneven or cracked garage floor, the new Hover Creeper literally hovers slightly above it. To use, the mechanic plugs in the creeper, lies down on the ergonomic pad and glides under the car. Once underneath, he can hit a lever, let the creeper fall to the ground and have stable leverage for more torque. Tools that use compressed air can be plugged into an outlet on the unit and it also has a built in tool caddy.

Description

The Hover Creeper is an automotive creeper that hovers on air, ensuring there is never any wheel or caster maintenance needed. Air simply goes in a bladder inlet and escapes in an even manner between the rubber bladder and the floor, creating an “air” cushion. The Hover Creeper is ergonomically-designed for comfort and even includes side pockets for carrying tools and parts while working.

The Solution

We took our client’s idea for such a product and combined it with our expertise to create the Hot / Cold Therapy Brace for wrists. It offers consumers full 360-degree therapy and joint support with a built-in gel system designed specifically to reduce swelling and relieve pain. It is freezable and microwaveable, depending on the user’s needs, and its reversible design allows for use on the left or right hand. Plus, it attaches quickly and effectively with hook-and-loop fasteners.

Description

Made for anyone with a wrist injury, the Hot/Cold Therapy Brace offers 360-degree therapy and joint support, thanks to a built-in gel system that is designed to reduce swelling and relieve pain. Having to stop in the middle of a sewing or quilting project to wind a bobbin is irritating and inconvenient. Unthreading the sewing machine needle or using an additional spool of thread takes a lot of time and effort that could be better spent on the project.

The Solution

We developed the Better Bobbin for a client who wanted a quick and convenient way to fill bobbins directly from the sewing machine. The product fills bobbins from various sizes of thread spools with no need to unthread the machine needle or use an additional spool. The unit also has an easy to follow thread guide, an adjustable tension disk, a built-in thread cutter and a telescoping spindle for large spools. In addition, it is compact for easy storage and portability and operates with batteries or an included adapter. We licensed the product to the largest manufacturer and distributor of sewing, quilting, and craft-related notions in North America.

Parking an RV completely level to ensure camping comfort and make sure refrigeration fluids are level can be tricky, to say the least. Often, ensuring the recreational vehicle is level is the most time-consuming part of setting up camp. Currently, the only other RV leveling product on the market requires users to take measurements from the inside of an RV.

The Solution

Davison created the RV Leveler, a two-part product that enables users to quickly determine whether their motorhome is level. The two-piece system eliminates all the back-and-forth and guesswork of a standard leveler. The RV Leveler’s base communicates wirelessly via radio frequency with a corresponding handheld device that operates 30+ feet away. The four-light LED display on the remote unit enables the user to see immediately where adjustments are needed; green LEDs show where an RV is level and the red LEDs show where it is not. The product was created specificially for CIPA, an aftermarket vehicle accessories company.
